History

Currently, Vietnam has about 30% of the population in need of assistance. In which, there are 11.9 million elderly people, about 1,227 million people receiving allowances for people with meritorious services to the revolution, 6.2 million people with disabilities, over 9 million people with mental health problems, 2 million children with disabilities. In special circumstances, there are about 2.23% of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty line, 3.37% of near-poor households, more than 3.5 million beneficiaries of monthly social allowance, about 2 million households that need urgent help every year. In addition, many women and children are abused, trafficked, abused or wandered to earn a living on the streets. According to Unicef, many children in Vietnam enjoy a quality of life that previous generations could never have imagined. However, there are still children and adolescents left behind by the impact of this dynamic socioeconomic development and continue to live in conditions of deprivation and exclusion. About 5.5 million children are deprived in at least two areas: education, health care, nutrition, shelter, water and sanitation, and social inclusion.

The forerunner of the Journey Fund was to sow love from a group of doctors and nurses who wanted and carried out volunteer activities. The group has accompanied throughout and supported the expertise of the Young Physicians Association of Ho Chi Minh City, under the main sponsorship of Dai Dung Group, has made many trips in different provinces across the country. On December 7, 2019, the Journey of Sowing Love was carried out in Dung Kno commune, Lac Duong, Lam Dong. The main activity in this trip is to visit and distribute medicine to people in the area. On July 31, 2022, the delegation went to Tan Thanh commune, Giong Trom, Ben Tre with activities of health education counseling, medicine examination and distribution, giving gifts to 500 policy beneficiaries, poor households, and giving gifts to Vietnam’s heroic mother. At the same time, the delegation also visited to offer incense and learn about the process of the Co Ba (Mrs. Nguyen Thi Dinh) at the Nguyen Thi Dinh memorial area.
On August 5-7, 2022, the delegation also continued to carry out the Journey of Sowing Love in A Bung, Dakrong, Quang Tri with activities of examining and distributing medicine to more than 500 households, giving more than 100 gifts to children. under difficult circumstances, giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, building a dinosaur library to donate more than 1000 books to primary schools. Along with the journey, the delegation also carried out activities on the source such as: offering incense to the martyrs cemetery, the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap, visiting Vinh Moc tunnels….1 week later, the delegation continued the journey. Sowing love in Bien Bien commune, Chau Thanh, Tay Ninh.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Journey of Sowing Love was also promoted. For the orphans due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Youth Union carried out activities to support and share a part. Responding to the month of action for children on June 18, 2022, the delegation participated in the “Children’s Day 2022” to support, visit and donate books. In order to have a happy mid-autumn festival, “The Full Moon of Love in 2022” also took place, with support from sponsors who gave more than 200 gifts, moon cakes and cash.
